UPPER PONY
CREEK DAM

Pony Creek Dam
The existing Upper Pony Creek Dam was built in 1951 of on-site materials.

The cornerstone project in our water supply expansion is the Upper Pony Creek Dam. The new dam will offer local residents two major benefits.

First, the safety of the community will be enhanced by a new dam built to the exacting requirements prescribed by Oregon's new seismic standards.

Second, the new dam spillway will be approximately 21 feet higher, providing about 1.9 billion gallons of storage. This represents almost a three-fold increase of the current capacity.

Mitigation for wetlands and fisheries are included at various locations in the watershed to avoid any long-term negative environmental impacts.
